2 Days Hands on Training on Methods of Extraction and Isolation of Chemical Constituents from Medicinal plants/Herbal plants

Objectives of the hands on training:

To understand the complexity of medicinal plant extraction and isolation of pure phytochemical constituents.

Hands on training duration: 2 days

Day - 1

  • Understanding the basic chemistry
  • Sequential solvents extraction of selected sample plants (soxhlet extraction and other methods)
  • Generation of crude from each extract
  • TLC studies of all extracts

Day - 2

  • Phytochemical screening of crude materials
  • Column chromatography studies
  • Characterization part of phytochemicals (NMR, FT-IR, LC-MS)

For one session of hands on training, maximum 20 peoples.
20 peoples will be separated 4 batches, each batches contain 5 peoples

Formulating the insulin to stable tablet form

Insulin is a hormone produced by body (pancreas, a gland located behind your stomach) which keeps the blood sugar level under control. It is given as an injection in type 1 and is sometimes needed in the more common form of type 2 diabetes also. Giving diabetes patients the chance to avoid the pain of needles has been the goal of our chemkovil.
